Beat the Heat: Ayurvedic Kidney Care Support Group and Consultations
This summer program is designed to help you towards your goals of caring for your kidneys. Summer months can be especially taxing on the kidneys due to the potential for heat exhaustion.
No matter if your goal is to prevent kidney issues, you have a chronic UTI, or are experiencing any stage of CKD, Ayurveda offers great insights, practices and resources to help you meet your goals. I’m here as your guide, to teach you principles and practices rooted in Ayurveda that support kidney health, strength, and improvement.
First, you will have an Ayurvedic Assessment with your instructor. You will be placed into subgroups based on your shared needs. Each session and materials will be tailored to highlight the needs of each group. The central feature of this program are the classes.
We will meet six times over the course of 6 weeks. The course will include herbal recommendations, nutritional guidance, gentle chair yoga during class, and other suggestions that are rooted in 5000 year old Ayurvedic teachings, much of which is finding increasing support from national research institutions.
This program is for educational purposes and personal development. It should not replace the care of your medical practitioner. It will incorporate guidance on home practices and also ways to get more out of your doctor visits by helping you identify helpful questions to ask your medical providers. I will also help you identify what to give more attention to during your doctor visits so you feel more confident with your allopathic care.
