This day is the 5th day of the 5th lunar month – an ancient traditional day to harvest Mugwort. Join us for our annual harvest of Mugwort, a spectacular and widely used medicinal plant.
Mugwort is used for many things – dream work, a medicinal tea for a variety of ills, and it can also be prepared into Moxa, a loose herb that is burned to warm and stimulate acupuncture points and various injuries.
We will have a short walk down the path to harvest Mugwort, while we chat about its history of use and properties, and then we will engage in some community harvesting of this lovely plant! Mugwort tea will be available to sip on.
This is a preparatory offering for a full class on how to dry and prepare Mugwort into Moxa, (a preparation used in Chinese medicine for conditions such as headaches, menstrual cramps, injuries, and so much more!) which will happen June 15th, 2024.
